Sverre Indris Joner

Latin American Power, Playfulness and Classical Elexion!

Sverre Indris Joner is an award-winning composer, organizer, pianist and orchestra leader – and one of Norway’s foremost mediators of Latin American music.

​For decades, he has created a very distinctive universe where tango, salsa and African-Cuban traditions meet classical music, jazz, electronica and Norwegian popular music.

​In 2025 he became the first Norwegian to win the prestigious Cuban music prize Cubadisco for the album Clásicos a lo Cubano – Live in Havana.

Joner is known as the driving force behind projects such as the Main Social Club, Electrocutango, Tango for 3 and La Descarga, and he has collaborated with, among others, KORK and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
