Katie Mahan is an American pianist who has garnered attention worldwide for her innovative musical personality, poetic interpretations, and elegant stage presence.

She masters a wide repertoire, encompassing both classical and crossover genres. However, she has particularly excelled as an interpreter of the music of George Gershwin, Claude Debussy, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Katie has performed in prestigious venues with renowned orchestras. Some examples include Konzerthaus in Berlin, Prinzregententheater in Munich, and the Hall of the Moscow Conservatory in Moscow, collaborating with orchestras such as the Wiener Residenz Orchestra, Prague Philharmonia, and Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra.

Her discography is extensive, but the most significant recording to date is the complete piano music of Leonard Bernstein. It was commissioned by Deutsche Grammophon to commemorate the composer's centenary.

Her latest album for the label Steinway & Sons, "Once Upon a Time," featuring music by Mozart and Liszt (2022), the Beethoven album "Appassionata" (2020), and the CD + DVD set "Classical Gershwin" (2019), have been selected by Lufthansa, Swiss Airlines, and Austrian Airlines for inclusion in their in-flight entertainment programs worldwide.

Katie has also produced a series of video blogs in which she takes viewers on a journey through Mozart's life in his hometown of Salzburg. She moved to this city because, as she told an interviewer, "I have always dreamed of living in this beautiful city where Mozart lived and breathed!"

In 2020, she was featured in the award-winning Deutsche Welle documentary "A World Without Beethoven," where she discusses Beethoven's influence on jazz alongside trumpeter Wynton Marsalis. In 2019, she was selected for a collaboration with the Denver Art Museum to produce a special edition CD titled "Music in Monet's Time" to accompany "Claude Monet: The Truth of Nature," the largest exhibition of Monet artworks to come to the USA in over two decades. She has also appeared on PBS, NPR, ORF, Ö1 (Austria), BR-Klassik (Germany), among others.
